Quote: "I don't kill innocents but don't get in my way because it is more of a guideline than a rule."
Powers: Black Alice has to ability to temporarily steal the powers of magical beings. She can hold onto it for about 30 minutes or until she releases it. When she borrows a person's power her costume changes to match the person's power she is using. DC universe characters that she's stolen the powers of include Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Raven, Black Adam, Misfit, Giganta, Etrigan, The Spectre, Nightshade, Green Lantern (Alan Scott) and Wonder Woman. She also seems to have some innate magical powers of her own.
Background: Lori discovered her powers when her mother (who had a prescription drug addiction) died of a drug overdose. Using her newfound abilities she adopted the alias Black Alice to punish the drug dealers responsible for her mother's death. Eventually her abilities attract the attention of the Birds of Prey and Oracle sends Huntress to try to counsel her under the guise of her schoolteacher so that she could join their team.
Personality: Lori has a very complicated personality. Although she acts confident and tough its masks an insecurity. Deep down she is looking for a place where she could fit in. She not really a bad person but she's had a very rough life and because of it tends to be a little emotionally unstable. She hates the idea of anyone trying to control her and because of that she can sometimes get very defensive and can lash out at the people around her. She also has a very volatile temper and when she gets upset...she can be very difficult to reason with. There are moments of genuine goodness within her though such as the time that she saves her rival Misfit's life (after discovering that the two of them might be related to one another). Right now Black Alice takes on sort of a morally ambiguous role walking a fine line between a heroine and a villainess. Which side she winds up on remains to be seen.
